Wells Fargo Alumni Raise $5M to Unify Commercial Banking
Fintech startup Identifee, founded by Wells Fargo alumni Vram Ismailyan and Miyamoto, is streamlining operations for over 170 financial institutions across the United States by unifying fragmented productivity technology into a single platform.
Targeting an Underserved Market of 8,800 Institutions
Ismailyan and Miyamoto engineered Identifee as the only software platform built from the ground up specifically for commercial banks and credit unions. This laser-focused approach allows the startup to serve a massive, highly specialized U.S. market segment that currently exceeds 8,800 active financial institutions.
Rapid Adoption by Major Financial Players
Despite the banking sector’s traditional resistance to rapid software adoption, Identifee has quickly established deep industry trust. The company has already signed up more than 170 clients, including prominent financial brands such as Silicon Valley Bank, Comerica, and First Fidelity Bank.
Securing $5 Million to Drive Fintech Innovation
To support its rapid growth trajectory, the startup secured approximately $5 million in seed funding. The successful investment round attracted prominent venture capital firms, including Ocean Azul Partners, 10X Capital, and Gaingels.
Solving the Commercial Banking Tech Deficit
When questioned about why mainstream software developers have failed to address the persistent workflow inefficiencies inside commercial banks, Miyamoto highlighted the unique perspective required to build a solution. “There are tons of people familiar with [this problem], but those people don’t start companies like Vram and I did,” Miyamoto stated.
