Amazon is launching a new feature on its shopping app and website today for U.S. Prime members, allowing them to add items to upcoming deliveries with a single tap instead of creating a separate order.

Adapting to Real-World Shopping Habits

This update directly aligns with actual digital shopping behaviors. Rather than building a single large cart over time, online consumers frequently recall forgotten items throughout the week, leading to multiple fragmented transactions.

The Logistics Challenge and Solutions

To address the resulting logistical strain of handling multiple separate shipments, Amazon previously introduced consolidation options. These include Amazon Day delivery—allowing users to receive all weekly purchases on a single designated day—and offering digital rewards for choosing slower shipping speeds.

How the “Add to Today’s Delivery” Feature Works

Under this new system, Prime members will see a bright blue button labeled “Add to today’s delivery” on product detail pages. This new button is positioned directly below the standard “Add to cart” option, temporarily replacing the traditional “Buy Now” one-click checkout.

To prevent accidental purchases or immediate changes of heart, Amazon has integrated an “Undo” feature, allowing shoppers to instantly remove the added item.

Pricing and Availability

This option activates whenever a user can add an eligible item to an active, upcoming shipment. The rollout is currently underway for Prime subscribers in the United States, where membership is priced at $14.99 monthly or $139 annually.
