Amazon to Slash 30,000 Corporate Jobs in AI Shift

Amazon is reportedly set to lay off up to 30,000 corporate employees starting Tuesday, marking its largest workforce reduction since 2023 as the e-commerce giant increasingly automates operations with artificial intelligence.

According to a report by Reuters citing sources familiar with the decision, the sweeping cuts will impact multiple key business units. The layoffs are expected to heavily target departments including human resources, devices and services, and corporate operations.

A Historic Downsizing for the Tech Giant

This upcoming wave of layoffs represents Amazon’s most significant downsizing effort since the post-pandemic market correction. Between late 2022 and 2023, the company executed a massive restructuring plan that ultimately eliminated 27,000 positions.
