Apple TV Increases Subscription Costs Yet Again

In a surprising move, Apple TV is raising its subscription fees for the fourth time in just four years.

Effective immediately, the monthly subscription fee for Apple TV will rise to $14.99, up from the previous rate of $12.99. Additionally, annual subscriptions will see a substantial increase from $99 to $119.

Apple One, the comprehensive package that encompasses subscriptions to services such as iCloud+, TV, Music, and Arcade, will also experience an increase, now costing $21.95 per month compared to the earlier $19.95.

Industry-Wide Price Increases

Apple is not the only company adjusting its pricing; earlier this year, Netflix raised its subscription costs in March, while Peacock also announced a price hike this month. The tech industry is facing increased hardware prices as well, driven by ongoing shortages of RAM and components due to soaring demand for equipment necessary for constructing AI data centers.

Consumer Sentiment and Upcoming Launches

Despite the discontent among consumers regarding these price hikes, it is anticipated that attention will soon shift back to Apple as the company gears up to unveil its latest lineup of iPhones. This reveal, scheduled for September 9, is expected to showcase Apple’s first foldable model, reigniting excitement among its user base.
