Roku Unveils Innovative Labs Hub for Experimental Apps

In a bold move, Roku has launched its new Labs hub, bringing experimental applications to users on the big screen. This exciting development comes alongside the introduction of Roku’s personalized Home Screen, which is now available in additional markets, including Mexico and Brazil. The updated interface will feature region-specific enhancements, such as localized content and customized recommendations. Furthermore, Roku’s Voice assistant has received an upgrade, now capable of answering weather-related inquiries.

On the streaming front, Roku plans to roll out bundled subscription options in the U.S. and Mexico, allowing users to combine various streaming services like AMC+, Fox ONE, Hallmark+, Howdy, and Starz. These bundles are designed to be more cost-effective compared to purchasing each subscription individually, making it easier for viewers to enjoy their favorite content without breaking the bank.

In a significant shift towards collaboration, Roku has announced it will open-source the software that powers its Roku remote, known as Roku LT OS.
